Seaview Crew Triumph
Sailing gold
In the last race of the sailing calendar for the Falmouth Working Boats 'Sapphire' took the honours in a race to commemorate the granting of the right to dredge for oysters by sail , and not motor, on the River Fal.
The boats now take up Oyster dredging for the winter or are laid up until next spring when racing restarts.
Helmed by 'Simmo' and crewed by Carol and John they won the 23ft. class for non-licensed dredging boats. This class does not qualify to win one of the coveted silver oysters set on a wood board, so, as it was Simmos birthday a few days later he was the presented with his own-hand made 'golden oyster'

Timmy 'fish' Bailey sailing Adam Davies 'Girl Sarah' won the 23ft. Licensed class, and the real 'silver oyster' trophy.

New Signage
pub gets a facelift
The sign backing board for the main pub sign had become well weather beaten and it has now been replaced with a very smart boat shaped board and utilized the original wood carved centre section.
The backing board was manufactured by local contractors Unique Joinery and erected by Jim Grubb on October 8th. 2008, On Oct. 14th the sign was fitted with the final touch of rope fender around the perimeter supplied by Jonnie Gouch and spliced together by Jim Grubb. This compliments the previously refurbished traditional post hung swinging sign which stands to the side of the pub patio.
